ஆதார் அடையாள அட்டை

சென்னை அண்ணா சாலையில் உள்ள தலைமைத் தபால் நிலையத்தில் ஆதார் தேசிய அடையாள அட்டை பதிவு செய்யும் பணி தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இது குறித்து தலைமை தபால் துறை தலைவர் அலுவலகம் வெளியிட்ட செய்திக் குறிப்பில்,‘இந்திய பிரத்யேக அடையாள அட்டை ஆணையத்துடன் மேற்கொண்ட புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தத்தின் கீழ் இந்திய தபால் துறை ஆதார் தேசிய அடையாள அட்டை வழங்குவதற்கான பதிவுப் பணியை மேற்கொண்டுள்ளது. சென்னை அண்ணா சாலையில் உள்ள தலைமைத் தபால் நிலையத்தில் அடையாள அட்டை பதிவுப் பணி தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. நவம்பர் 1-ம் தேதி முதல் மயிலாப்பூர், தியாகராய நகர் மற்றும் பூங்கா நகர் ஆகிய பகுதிகளில் உள்ள தலைமைத் தபால் நிலையங்கள் மூலம் அடையாள அட்டை பதிவுப் பணி தொடங்க உள்ளது. நவம்பர் 21-ம் தேதி முதல் 31 மாவட்டங்களில் உள்ள தலைமைத் தபால் நிலையங்களில் அடையாள அட்டை பதிவுப் பணி தொடங்கவுள்ளது. இந்திய குடிமக்களுக்காக இலவசமாக வழங்கப்படும் ஆதார் அடையாள அட்டையை பதிவு செய்து பெற்றுக்கொள்ளலாம்’ என கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) was established in February 2009, attached to the Planning Commission. The purpose of the UIDAI is to issue a unique identification number (UID) to all Indian residents that is (a) robust enough to eliminate duplicate and fake identities, and (b) can be verified and authenticated in an easy, cost effective way. The Department of Posts has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Unique identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to become a Registrar for enrolment process for UID cards (Aadhaar cards). Tamil Nadu Postal Circle, which covers both Tamil Nadu State and Pondicherry UT, has already launched the enrolment process in Pondicherry UT on 29/07/2011. The enrolment in Tamil Nadu state is launched at Anna Road Head Post Office under phase I of the project on 25/10/2011. The same would be extended to General Post Office -- Chennai, Mylapore HO, T. Nagar HO and Park Town HO on 01/11/2011.
